Ingredients

For the Patties
  • 2 cans tuna in water 5 oz each, drained
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella/provolone mix)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
For Serving
  • 1 fresh lemon sliced to squeeze on top
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Method

How to Make Tuna Melt Patties
  1. Drain the tuna well and flake it with a fork in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Combine the beaten egg, mayonnaise, mustard, Panko, Old Bay, cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper into the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 6 equal patties and chill them in the fridge for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve the patties immediately and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
