How to Make Strawberry Danish
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the sliced strawberries, 2 tablespoons of sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
Mix the softened cream cheese, remaining sugar (2 tablespoons), and lemon juice in another bowl.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles, arranging them on the baking sheet.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the center of the dough.
Spoon the strawberry filling over the cream cheese layer.
Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and brush them with beaten egg.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
Cool the Danish slightly on the baking sheet.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired, slice and serve warm.
Notes
A sprinkle of lemon zest on top adds a refreshing zing! Ensure cream cheese is soft for smooth mixing.
