Method

Steps to Make Strawberry Danish
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the sliced strawberries in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Gently toss everything together and set aside.
  3. Mix the softened cream cheese, remaining sugar (2 tablespoons), and lemon juice in another bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough, separating it into triangles and arranging them on the baking sheet.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the center of the dough, leaving space at the edges.
  6. Spoon the strawberry filling over the cream cheese layer, distributing evenly.
  7. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a border and brush with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
  9. Cool the Danish slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
