Method

How to Make Sticky Honey Soy Chicken
  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until smooth to create the marinade.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over, ensuring the chicken is coated well. Marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  3. In a large skillet, add a touch of oil and heat over medium-high until shimmering.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and set aside the marinade. Sear the chicken in the skillet for 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Once chicken is cooked, add the reserved marinade back to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add it to the skillet and stir, allowing the sauce to thicken for about 2–3 minutes.
  7. Plate the chicken, drizzle with sauce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
