How to Make Quick Gooey Butter Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix the dough by combining the yellow cake mix, softened butter, egg, cream cheese, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl.
Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the chilled dough and roll them into balls.
Coat each ball thoroughly in powdered sugar.
Place the coated dough balls on your prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake the cookies in your preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Serve your cookies warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese and butter are fully softened for a smooth dough. Avoid overmixing.
