For the Sauce
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Method

How to Make Mississippi Mud Chicken
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and sear for about 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the ranch dressing mix, brown gravy mix, chicken broth, and cream of mushroom soup. Stir well and bring to a simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Place the seared chicken back into the skillet, spoon some sauce over. Cover and let simmer for about 15–20 minutes.
  4. In the last few minutes, sprinkle cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the chicken. Cover until cheese melts.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions for a fresh touch.
