  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce enhances saltiness and brings a delightful savory note.
  • 2 tablespoons honey balances the saltiness with natural sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar adds a tangy brightness.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil imparts a nutty aroma.
  • 2 cloves garlic minced for a punch of aromatic goodness.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated to provide warming spice.
For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon ensure they are fresh and skin-on for moisture.
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds sprinkled for crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions adds fresh bite.

Equipment

  • bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Preparation
  1. Whisk together the marinade. In a bowl, combine the white miso paste, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Marinate the salmon. Place the salmon fillets into a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the miso marinade over the salmon; ensure each fillet is coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or refrigerate for an hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Prepare the baking sheet. Line with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  5. Arrange the fillets. Place the marinated salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
  6. Roast the salmon. Roast for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through and flakes easily.
  7. Garnish and serve. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top.
  8. Enjoy your meal! Serve with steamed rice and veggies.
