Ingredients

Method

Making the Mini Meringues
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Prepare baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  3. Add egg whites and a pinch of salt to a clean mixing bowl.
  4. Beat the egg whites on medium speed until frothy.
  5. Incorporate cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  6. Gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time while beating on high speed.
  7. Mix in vanilla extract and food coloring until well combined.
  8. Transfer meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star or round tip.
  9. Pipe small mounds, about 1 inch in diameter, onto prepared baking sheets.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  11. Cool the meringues by turning off the oven and leaving them inside for at least 30 minutes.
  12. Remove the meringues from baking sheets and store in an airtight container.
  13. Serve as a light snack or use to decorate desserts.
