How to Make Maraschino Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients gradually and mix until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips, chopped cherries, and nuts gently.
Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Serve the cookies warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a less sweet cookie, consider reducing the sugar slightly. Optional: Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before serving.
