Ingredients

For the Pasta

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined, fresh, plump shrimp add protein and elevate the dish.

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil provides a smooth richness.
  • 4 cloves garlic minced, adds a fragrant depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adds a kick of heat.
  • 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth.
  • 1 unit lemon zest and juice brighten the recipe.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
For the Garnish

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil.
  2. Add the spaghetti to the pot and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, pour in the olive oil and warm until shimmering.
  4. Add the minced garlic and sprinkle in the red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Carefully add the shrimp, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  6. Pour in white wine (or chicken broth), lemon zest, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Gently add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well. If dry, add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and grated Parmesan if desired.
