Ingredients

Filling
  • 1 lb Ground beef the star ingredient
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce for depth
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
Rolls
  • 4 Hoagie rolls soft and fluffy
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese or Cheez Whiz

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet.
  5. Spoon the ground beef and vegetable mixture evenly into each hoagie roll.
  6. Top each filled roll with 2 slices of provolone cheese or a generous amount of Cheez Whiz.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
