Ingredients

For the Bread
  • 1 loaf French bread This sturdy bread is ideal for holding all that delicious garlic butter.
For the Garlic Butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Use room temperature butter for easy spreading.
  • 4 cloves garlic Freshly minced garlic gives the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley Finely chopped for a pop of color and freshness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances all the flavors and balances the richness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Adds a mild kick that complements the garlic.
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes A pinch of heat to spice things up!
For Topping
  • Grated Parmesan cheese Sprinkled on top for an extra layer of savory goodness.

Equipment

  • oven
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet

Method

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures your garlic bread will cook evenly and achieve that perfect golden crust.
  2. Combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes in a mixing bowl. Mix until all ingredients are well blended into a creamy garlic butter.
  3. Slice the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise. You’ll want to expose as much surface area as possible for that heavenly garlic butter spread!
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure every inch is covered so each bite bursts with flavor!
  5. Arrange the prepared bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. This will help them stay crispy while baking.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy. For that perfect finish, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes. Just keep an eye on it to avoid burning!
  7. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic bread during the last couple of minutes of baking, if desired. This will melt into a cheesy topping that adds an extra layer of deliciousness.
  8. Slice into pieces and serve warm. Enjoy the aromas and watch them disappear as everyone dives in!
