How to Make Dulce de Leche Lava Cake
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Grease four 6-ounce ramekins generously with butter and dust with flour.
Melt the butter and chopped chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl.
Whisk the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until combined.
Combine the melted chocolate mixture with the egg mixture, stirring until smooth.
Fold in the flour and salt gently until just combined.
Portion a small amount of the chocolate batter into each ramekin, filling them about one-third full.
Spoon approximately 1 tablespoon of dulce de leche into the center of each ramekin.
Cover the dulce de leche with more chocolate batter until the ramekins are about three-quarters full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
Cool the cakes for about 1-2 minutes once removed from the oven.
Loosen the cakes by carefully running a knife around the edges of the ramekins.
Dust with powdered sugar for a sweet finishing flourish.
Serve warm alongside fresh berries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
Optional: Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top to enhance the flavors.
