How to Make Classic Lasagna
Start by warming the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Introduce the ground beef and cook until browned, about 7–10 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes.
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom.
Layer with noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat until no ingredients remain.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Allow lasagna to cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
