Preparation Steps
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Combine the dry ingredients by whisking together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Grease the preheated waffle iron lightly with cooking spray or melted butter.
Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook for 3-5 minutes until they’re crisp and fully cooked.
Remove the waffles carefully and place them on a plate.
Top your waffles with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
