Method
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop out a portion of cookie dough and flatten it slightly.
Place about 1 teaspoon of chocolate fudge sauce in the center of the flattened dough.
Enclose the fudge sauce by folding the edges of the dough over it and rolling it into a ball.
Arrange the filled cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Serve warm for the best lava effect.
Notes
