Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  2. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add the ice water, mixing until the dough comes together.
  4. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar, stirring until it turns a golden amber color.
  7. Remove from heat and carefully stir in the butter until melted.
  8. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring until smooth. Add a pinch of salt and set aside to cool.
